Description
The Pastrami Queen Deii in New York City is located in the Upper East Village and can be found at 1125 Lexington Ave. It is a Kosher restaurant with a loyal following. They serve the best pastrami sandwiches and garlic fries in the city. This painting was a real joy to create because I love food and I inherited my love of food from my father who was a New Yorker, born and bred. He would often reminisce about all the restaurants and delis that he would frequent as a young man while living and working in his native city. I included the server at the counter busy cutting up the juicy pastrami slices for the many hungry customers waiting for their orders. The blue car and the red Coca Cola truck parked in front show that the store is located on a busy street. I found that the pretty blue awning over the brown door was particularly effective because it added a nice color contrast. Of course, I had to add the red Coca Cola truck as it a favorite breverage.
