Carole Spandau
Medium
Painting - Oil On Canvas
Description
Windsor station was built over 100 years ago and served as Canadian Pacific's railroad station until the 1990's. The old tracks are no longer in use and it is used by commuters traveling to the West Island. Today it is used as a thoroughfare to the Metro and the underground city. The station now houses many good restaurants and a food court. The scene depicted in this painting shows the station in all its glory in the 1940's or 50's when Montreal still had trams and the railway was the main mode of transportation for many travelers.
