This scene is reminiscent of Montreal depanneurs of long ago when many of them were located on the first floor of multi-family homes. Families lived on the upper floors and people got a lot of exercise walking up and down those snowy and slippery stairs. Kik Cola was sold there along with many staples such as milk and bread. Two local boys are slapping the puck on the packed snow just to pass the time and enjoy the brisk cold day.
