If you love older ornate brick architecture, dormer windows and all kinds of interesting signage, join me on my winter walk through Plateau Mont Royal. Corner buildings are among the most unique structures in Montreal as many are triplexes and three-storey structures. The family units on the top floors are very large and roomy flats with a depanneur or cafe as the storefront attraction downstairs. Rue Saint Dominique and Pine Avenue is classic; the perfect place for our mural artists to display their modern and colorful masterpieces against the simple brick backdrop.
I really love this corner building with the Pines across the cafe depanneur. Saint Dominique is a crowded busy street with great neighborhood family friendly mom and pop depanneurs and of course, happy local hockey kids showing off the latest moves they practiced at the rink.
