Description
This is a monument to George-Etienne Cartier, a Father of Confederation which was inaugurated on September 6,1919 and sits in Jeanne Mance Parc near Mont Royal. Eighteen figures are depicted in the monument along with four resting lions who stand guard at the entrance and at the rear of the monument. George-Etienne Cartier stands with a document in hand addressing Parliament. Today, it is the site of the Tamtam festivals, a Sunday gathering of people who come to listen to drummers.
