Artist's Description

Come on over, just bring your appetite. Mom and the kids are out for winter stroll and a bit of a lunchtime shopping spree at the local corner depanneur. We are a city of tiny grocery stores which can be found on almost every block, in bustling family neighborhoods from the Plateau to the Pointe to Ville Emard and Verdun, Rosemont and east end Montreal to Parc Extension, Mile End to Little Italy to Chinatown. Well- stocked shelves with all kinds of canned goods from our wonderfully diverse, rich cultural communities is something unique and special that we have in Montreal.

Today finds me at the local depanneur where two hockey pals, rivals to score that winning goal are facing off as they have a "just for fun" little street hockey practice. I take out my long list of all the little goodies I want to buy. I know what the depanneur has hidden on his shelves. I am planning on buying one of everything! See you for dinner.
