I don't have a backyard lane anymore but I really loved our Park Ex laneway back in the mid 50's and 60's where I spent so much time playing with the neighborhood kids. These were safe zones where our parents could watch us through kitchen windows as we skated, built snowmen and aup with all our school friends. Snow days were the best because we didn't have to share our laneway with the occasional car, knife- sharpening guys or pushcarts. These backyard lanes belonged to us and we spend our cherished long winter Sundays in total slow mo!
This backlane is in Verdun Montreal where five boys meet to play some street hockey.The ground is snow-packed and the boys are practicing for heir big game.
